La obra mural más importante de Renau en México se titula “España hacia América” que pintó en el salón de fiestas del Casino de la Selva. Comenzando sus trabajos en 1946. El mural está realizado con la técnica de fresco como la mayoría de los muralistas trabajaban en esa época, pero con la variedad de usar un material utilizado en temples medievales europeos con un aglutinante de la proteína de leche llamado caseína, que al ser un poco más acuoso le permitía trabajar las texturas diferentes al trabajo del resto de los muralistas mexicanos. El mural corresponde a tres paneles de un total de 30 metros de largo por 4 de alto, así que para Renau no representaba problema el espacio sino la composición de la temática, donde buscó la unión histórica entre México y España.
