Times Square, the heart of New York City’s Broadway district, could possibly – possibly being the operative word – gain a glitzy new attraction in the years ahead: The owners of Caesars Palace are proposing the construction of a casino in a neighborhood where monetary risks are typically measured by what succeeds on the theatrical stage. The New York Times is reporting today that developer SL Green Realty Corporation and Caesars Entertainment are “actively trying to enlist local restaurants, retailers and construction workers in joining a pro-casino coalition, as the companies aim to secure one of three new casino licenses in the New York City area approved by state legislators earlier this year. ”As the Times notes, the arrival of a casino would have “enormous implications for Times Square, ” with some of Broadway’s current and biggest players seeing either increased competition or a boon for tourism and new money. The proposed casino would be located in the SL Green skyscraper at 1515 Broadway, near West 44th Street, a building that also houses Broadway’s long-running musical The Lion King. In a statement obtained by Deadline, the Broadway League – the trade organization representing theater owners and producers – said it opposes the concept.“The Broadway League does not endorse a casino in Times Square, ” the League says. “The addition of a casino will overwhelm the already densely congested area and would jeopardize the entire neighborhood whose existence is dependent on the success of Broadway. Broadway is the key driver of tourism and risking its stability would be detrimental to the City. ”But another important Broadway organization takes the opposite stance: Actors’ Equity Association, the labor union representing actors and stage managers, says a casino could make the district, troubled by a recent rise in street crime, safer. (The developers have pledged to use some of the gambling revenues to fund sanitation and safety improvements, including the deployment of new surveillance drones. )“The proposal from the developer for a Times Square Casino would be a game changer that boosts security and safety in the Times Square neighborhood with increased security staff, more sanitation equipment and new cameras, ” Equity says in a statement. “We applaud the developer’s commitment to make the neighborhood safer for arts workers and audience members alike. ”How the casino proposal will play out is anyone’s guess – the Times quotes State Sen. Brad Hoylman, whose district includes Times Square, as saying the Broadway League’s “clout” is crucial and “if they’re opposing this proposal, I don’t see how it proceeds. ”Either way, out-of-state gamblers probably shouldn’t be booking their flights to New York just yet. The website of the state’s Gaming Facility Location Board notes that no determinations will be made or licenses issued for new casinos until sometime in 2023 at the earliest. If you have a chance to visit Sunset Station, DO IT! The atmosphere is fun, and the staff is friendly. PLUS, the table minimus are MUCH more inviting than what you would find on the Strip or Fremont. It's a really nice place to get away from the major crowds! FYI, this was NOT a private table. It was open to anyone who wanted to play. This was recorded later in the day, so there were more people playing, which made it fun! I would rather NOT have a private table in our videos, so we can play with the general public, and not always the same people every time. This was a fun Roulette game. Had some ups and downs. Some great hits, and some painful losses. BUT, I walked away a winner! Although my way of playing may not make me tons of money in winnings and is sometimes harder to recover from when I lose a hand, it's still a statistically BETTER way of playing this game and lets me play longer and WIN more often! Is it a GUARANTEED way to win? NOPE! There is NO strategy that will win every time. But, it is A LOT of fun to play this way! Here's how I play roulette: As we know, the play field is divided up into three sections; 1-12, 13-24, and 25-36. Taking this into account, I take a look at the board to see how the wheel is trending. I will then place my first bets on the 2/3 of the field that the numbers are mostly coming from. It's important to note that when I'm placing my bets on 2/3 of the field, I do it equally on each 1/3 I'm playing. For example: If I'm betting on the first 2/3 of the field (1-24), I will start out with 3-4 chips on the outside (6-lines or streets) of each 1/3. So the 1-12 section has 3-4 chips and the 13-24 section also has 3-4 chips. Either way, each section has the same number of chips in the same pattern. If the number hits in any of the 2/3 I'm betting on, I'm a winner and I'll move to the inside and place bets on corners, equally spaced with equal number of chips in each 1/3. Placing 4 chips equally spaced on the corners allows me to cover ALL the numbers in that section. (see the video for how I do it.) This betting method always produces a small or large profit when a number hits for me. It NEVER pays less than my bet or break even. The reason I bet this way (2/3 of the field) is because I have a 2:3 chance of winning something or breaking even. If I bet equal money on ALL 3 sections of the field, I'd just be spinning my wheels. If I bet on just 1/3 of the field, the odds are even MORE against me. Thus the reason why I play 2/3 of the field. If I continue to win, I will gradually increase my bets either by adding the 6-lines or streets to my inside bets, OR by pressing the corners bets. I will gradually increase my bets until a number hits in the section I'm NOT betting on. Then I start over from the beginning with small outside bets as stated above. If all of the above is confusing, just watch my roulette videos and you can see my method in action (mostly). Again, is this a fool-proof way to win at roulette? NOPE! There's no such thing. BUT, it does allow me to play longer and gives me a better chance at winning than randomly placing my chips on the layout.
